Under Washington Measure 692, medical marijuana is not legal to buy or sell. Patients are required to grow their own medical marijuana, or designate a primary caregiver to do so for them. A designated caregiver is a person 18 years of age or older, who is designated in writing by the patients to serve as a provider. Providers are prohibited from consuming marijuana obtained for the personal, medical use of the provisioned patient. Providers may only cultivate medical marijuana for one patient at a time.
